About Vintage Toy Authority
It started in 1977. That's when St. Louis native Doug Feldman began purchasing pre-1970s electric toy trains and accessories — and never looked back. By 1979, his passion had grown enough to earn him membership in the Train Collectors of America, deepening both his expertise and his network within the vintage collectibles world.
Over the years, wherever Doug found trains, he found toys. And wherever he found toys, he found stories. That curiosity expanded his collection into the broad, diverse range of pre-1990s vintage and antique items he seeks out today — from tin robots and pressed steel vehicles to character dolls, vintage Disney, and beyond.
Today, Vintage Toy Authority is built on that same collector's mindset. Doug doesn't just follow the vintage toy market — he studies it, staying current with demand for both traditional antique collectibles and increasingly sought-after toys from the 1980s. That up-to-date market knowledge means his appraisals reflect real value, not outdated estimates. And because he's acquiring for his own collection, not just reselling, he's consistently able to offer more than traditional dealers and resellers.
